At Bowen’s Party Emporium, we want your balloons to look their very best for as long as possible. Each of our arrangements is handcrafted using premium-quality materials, but with a few simple care tips, you can help them stay beautiful throughout your celebration and beyond.

💨 General Care Tips

Keep balloons indoors and away from extreme temperatures. Heat can cause balloons to expand and pop, while cold air can make them shrink or appear deflated.

Avoid direct sunlight, heaters, radiators, or open windows. Sunlight and heat are the most common causes of balloon damage.

Keep away from sharp objects, rough surfaces, and pets. Even a small scratch or static can burst a balloon.

Avoid touching the balloons too much once they’re arranged — oils from your hands can affect the shine and lifespan of the latex.

Do not release balloons outdoors. We’re proud to support responsible balloon use — always dispose of balloons properly.

🎈 Latex Balloons

Latex balloons generally last 12 to 24 hours once inflated with helium (less in hot or humid environments).

When filled with air, latex balloons can last several days indoors.

If your latex balloons appear cloudy, it’s due to oxidation — a natural process when latex is exposed to air. It gives a velvety or matte finish and is completely normal.

Keep them in a cool, shaded area to help maintain their shine.

🎈 Foil Balloons

Foil (Mylar) balloons typically last 3 to 5 days when inflated with helium, sometimes longer.

Avoid pressing or bending foil balloons, as the seams can tear.

If your foil balloon begins to sag, it may simply need a small helium top-up.

🌡️ Temperature & Environment

Cold air causes helium to contract, making balloons appear soft or underinflated. Don’t worry — they’ll firm up again as the temperature rises.

Hot air causes helium to expand and can burst balloons, especially in cars or near windows. Always transport and store balloons in a cool, dry space.

📸 Display & Longevity

For events, keep balloons out of reach of children until display time to prevent accidental popping.

Avoid placing balloons under air conditioning vents or fans that can cause them to move or rub together.

For outdoor setups, note that weather conditions (wind, rain, sunlight) can significantly reduce balloon life.

♻️ After the Celebration

Always dispose of balloons responsibly. Pop and bin them rather than releasing them outdoors.

Latex balloons are biodegradable, but still require proper disposal to protect wildlife.

Foil balloons are not biodegradable, so please place them in general waste.
